This 7"x10" ink drawing on archival paper features a dense cluster of overlapping lines situated slightly off-center. The lines are tightly packed, forming a dark mass that contrasts sharply with the surrounding negative space. The strokes seem to spiral and layer on top of one another, creating a sense of depth and texture within the darkened area. The edges of the clustered lines start to loosen, becoming more open and less structured as they move outward, giving the impression of an energetic core gradually dissipating into the emptiness around it. The simplicity of the composition draws attention to the intensity of the mark-making and the contrast between the solid, dark shape and the bright, unmarked background.
